All folders are empty

I upgraded from 1.3.9 to 1.4.11 and when I log into roundcube, every folder I've got is empty, including the inbox.  IMAP server, running on the same machine, is dovecot.  That's installed from Ubuntu 18 packages and works -- if I connect to it with thunderbird, everything's great.

On downgrade to 1.3.9, everything is OK.  Initially I was getting an error with the downgrade but I figured out that I needed to restart php7.2-fpm to get 1.4.11 files out of its cache.

Any ideas or further troubleshooting steps?

I tried the upgrade again, this time restarting that PHP service.  No luck.  All folders are empty, and logs/errors doesn't exist, so apparently none were thrown.  Safely running 1.3.9 again.

I tried 1.4.10 and have the same problem.  All folders show as empty, and there is definitely mail in those folders.

Take a look at the browser console (including the Network tab). It can be a client side issue.

I have no idea how to troubleshoot that error further.  The same thing happens in Firefox Developer Editiion, Chrome, Edge, and Internet Explorer.  Windows 10.  All browsers are 64-bit.

I can see the network tab, but don't know what to look for.

Also tried FirefoxPortable, 64-bit, version 89.0.1, same problem.

I did finally get it working.  Looks like this software requires more during an upgrade than any other PHP software I have dealt with before.
