Problems understanding Roundcube's mail storage

I'm using cPanel and trying to understand how Roundcube has stored it's database files.

for instance I see a storage directory with a number of files but no file extensions. They are not pure text files and they don't seem to be mbox files either.

Would these be Roundcube's db files?

Any help appreciated
