I tried to search for an idiots guide to getting started, but didn't lcoate one. Please point me to a web page or whatever.

I have just installed Roundcube on my Asustor AS4002T NAS box. This was available as an app.

I started the Roundcube app and all I got was a login screen with fields: Username; Password; and Server. I have no idea what to do now. I assume I have to go somewhere and setup an account?

I was expecting to find some menues and screens which would allow me to setup this software to make the NAS behave like an IMAP server.

I was working on the assumption that Roundcube would operate (when configured) as an IMAP server, much like "Dovecot" which I have previously run under Linux. Dovecot worked well but was a right PITA to initially configure.

All I want si to run some software on the NAS (Dovecot is not available) which runs an IMAP server to which all my PCs and laptops in the house can connect to in order to copy emails from local Thunderbird folders to the same named folders on the IMAP server. The advantage is that the IMAP server can be see by all devices in the house. I am not interested in remote access out of the house.

Roundcube isn't a IMAP server, its a webmail client that connects to a IMAP server so you will have to find and install a IMAP server in order to use Roundcube.

OK thank you. It's my mis-understanding.

Hmmm, I'm having problems typing the verification letters. 10th attempt coming up!  ;D
