Shared mailbox

has anyone hacked access to a shared email account in addition to the users account?  The company would have an [email protected] mailbox that everyone could use, but would also have access to their email.  Authentication to info@mycompany could be hardcoded into the config file, users would authenticate with their own account info.
Any thoughts would be great.
