Connection to IMAP server fail

Hi all

   I am trying to connect server from login http://localhost/webmail/ . it gives me error .. "Connection to IMAP server fail".
Where as from Installer http://localhost/webmail/installer/index.php?_step=3  
Test IMAP configuration.  i am using same connection with same username / pass. and its working fine.. it shows
Connecting to  XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
IMAP connect:  OK(SORT capability: no)

can anybody please help me, whats problem..
