Roundcube SMTP Problem

Hello,

I have roundcube set up on a test server. It can access the imap server to access email without a problem and I have configured it to work with multiple identities. What stumps me is that I set the smtp server to entry that exists in the DNS and I get an error code 504 from the mail server. When I looked up what this code means it says: 504 - A command parameter is not implemented.

Please note that I am trying to access an external SMTP server; I do not want the roundcube box to act like a SMTP server.
