send footer only on messages of users who choose to do it

Is it possible?

I wanna do it because some of my users are complaining of the footer sent on their messages.

So, i thought to write some code in main.inc.php and only set the footer variable to users who want it.

To do this task, i would need to get the logged in user on main.inc.php. Is it possible?
