Fail from the very start

Hi:
I tried to install Roundcube in my share host acount, details of server are as follows
Platform: Debian
Mysql version: 5.0.45
Perl: 5.8.8
PHP: 5.2.5
I configured manually the database config file to point to my roundcube database manually created, then point my browser to the installer folder. Surprisingly, an "Internal Server Error" alarm appeared saying that "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request....
Can you there give me some light on this?

Try deleting the .htaccess in the Roundcube directory.

I tried as your suggestion and it's OK to proceed on. Although there some problems relating session_save_path but it's quickly solved after looking for clues in the Roundcube website how to solve it.
