configure folder type for sent mail - plugin?

Wondering if anyone has considered a plugin so that specific folders can be designated to display contents for sent mail items. At present only the Sent folder displays the correct item headers for sent messages. Personally, I tend to organise old messages into category folders with In and Out folders nested underneath. Presently browsing an Out folder shows messages as if they were received items rather than sent. Having the ability to designate folder purpose to correctly display headers would be very useful. For reference, Thunderbird has a folder flags plugin for this very purpose.

If you create subfolders in Sent folder it should work, at least with svn-trunk version.
