Lost address book

I am not a developer.  I have lost the roundcube email address book twice now.  Is there a way to backup email addresses?  My isp is bluehost.

what exactly do you mean by lost?

are the contacts still in the database and just missing when you open RC or are they gone from the database?

does this happen after a specific event like upgrading rc?
