all messages in inbox deleted

Not sure if this is even possible, but we have a customer that is claiming that he composed a message and after it sent it went back to his Inbox which was then empty.  I checked on our server an all of his messages are now gone.

We are using 0.4beta with dovecot, and have never experienced any issues like this in the past.  

Any suggestions to figure out what might have happened?  Is this even possible?

So just found out that he tried to setup Outlook to download messages so it deleted what was on the server.
