New install - "DSN (write): NOT OK(MDB2 Error: unknown error)"

Have installed RC on a new machine (Mac OS X 10.6.6 Server).

Everything seemed to go OK until the third step of the web installer, Test Config which gives:

Check DB config

DSN (write):  NOT OK(MDB2 Error: unknown error)
Make sure that the configured database exists and that the user has write privileges
DSN: mysqli://roundcube:mypassword@localhost/roundcubemail

Any suggestions?
