0.6 Beta causing des_key error after upgrade?

After running the installto script, everything worked except for one error:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to a member function exec_hook() on a non-object in /var/www/SITE/htdocs/webmail/program/include/rcmail.php on line 1221

Now I get this in the apache error log every time I try to visit the login page... In essence totally broken. Totally confused as well... Not sure where to go/how to troubleshoot this? I was upgrading from 0.5.4

Do you have any plugins enabled? Try re-uploading all of the files in the program directory in case there's an old file or a corrupted file.

I recopied the program folder and all is well.
