Signature Options: Inline Image and the "--"

Is it possible to embed an image in a signature?

Also, some users do not like the double hyphens that get automatically added.  Can their be an option (on a per user) basis to turn that off?  I know it's the "standard", but the customer is always right (even if they are wrong).  Or, if you tell me where in the code I can "hack" this, I can probably do it myself.
