RCM deleting Sent mails?

People,

Over 400 mails from my Sent mail folder disappeared this morning and new sent mails started to accumulate - I was able to recover all the previous mails from backup but is it possible that RCM is removing mails like this without my deliberate intervention?  Fortunately I keep previous years sent mails in separate folders but this could have been disastrous . .
