Can't Send Email

I can send email from a client fine but not through my roundcube website. I'm certain it's because on the email client I have my outgoing server as smtp.charter.net, but my server does not know if this otherwise. Is there a setting in roundcube to set your outgoing server, or is it possibly a setting in dovecot/postfix. THANKS!!!
