Hi John.
Thanks for the reply.
 "Flag the message for deletion instead of delete" and "Do not show deleted messages" ticked?   Both these are on, the rest are off.
Not sure what you you meant with the trash folder. Here is a screen shot though.

 $config['smtp_host'] = 'tls://localhost:25';

also, usually submission port is 587, not 25.

"Authentication failed." is a clear message so check the smtp auth settings. The defaults are:
Code: [Select]
// SMTP username (if required) if you use %u as the username Roundcube
// will use the current username for login
$config['smtp_user'] = '%u';

// SMTP password (if required) if you use %p as the password Roundcube
// will use the current user's password for login
$config['smtp_pass'] = '%p';
If you would like to disable smtp auth then set the options to empty strings.

Pending Issues / I receive emails but cannot send them: authentication failed
« Last post by Yves89000 on March 29, 2023, 11:59:18 AM »
hello

Emails aren't really my thing to install on the server. :-\

My mail server is working. Squirremail works without problem (sending and receiving mail).

On the other hand for Roundcube the reception of emails works, but not the sending.

I keep getting errors smtp() error: Authentication failed.

When I send emails with squirremail, it happens:

On the other hand if I send with roundcube it does not pass:
Code: [Select]
     Tue 29 12:34:27 ns1 postfix/submission/smtpd[275802]: connect from localhost[127.0.0.1]
     Tue 29 12:34:27 ns1 postfix/submission/smtpd[275802]: disconnect from localhost[127.0.0.1] ehlo=1 quit=1 commands

I don't have any other logs showing up.

Do you have an idea ?

     Here is my Roundcube config:
Code: [Select]
     // IMAP host chosen to perform the log-in.
     // See defaults.inc.php for the option description.
     $config['imap_host'] = 'localhost:143';
     // SMTP server host (for sending mails).
     // See defaults.inc.php for the option description.
     $config['smtp_host'] = 'localhost:25';
     $config['smtp_auth_type'] = 'PLAIN';

I use the version 1.6.1

squirremail seems well configured on localhost:25 (checked via /usr/share/squirrelmail/configure)

If someone could help me that would be great :) :)

In the HTML editor click on the 3 dots at the end of the right hand end of the editor toolbar. Then you will get an option to access the HTML source.

In Settings > Preferences > Server Settings do you have "Flag the message for deletion instead of delete" and "Do not show deleted messages" ticked? Also under Special folders do you have your Trash folder correctly defined?

Secondly, if a company sends me an email, if I reply with their email under mine, more often than not, it will fail to send. Unable to reach server.
Do you have Wordfence or anything like that enabled? It sounds similar to https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/issues/7494

May be something happened to your subscription settings? Check in Roundcube if your folders are not listed under Settings > Folders. There you can also see if they are subscribed or not. If the folders are not there then you should contact your email provider to find out what happened to them.

General Discussion / HTML Conversion Issues Within RoundCube ?????

I am creating an HTML message within cPanel/WHM RoundCube Mail Email Inbox. Does the cPanel/WHM RoundCube Mail Email Inbox allow for HTML Coding? If yes, it's not working correctly? How do I preview the HTML Message Coding that I have created within cPanel/WHM RoundCube Mail Email Inbox? NOTE: Before sending it to my client, I need to preview the HTML Code within the within cPanel/WHM Email Inbox area.

General Discussion / Deleted folder

Hello Everyone
I wonder if someone can help me.
When I delete an email from the "Inbox", it does not go into the deleted folder, or trash but it just disappears.

Secondly, if a company sends me an email, if I reply with their email under mine, more often than not, it will fail to send. Unable to reach server. Until I remove the LOGO's and headers form the original email.

Any ideas greatly received.
